Clerks 2 (2006)
8.5/10
They are back, and they are brilliant! The worlds most loved misfit clerks have returned to the screen; 10 years has past, they are a little fatter, a little older and only a miniscule touch more mature! In the original “Clerks” installment Dante and Randall dealt with the ins and outs of trying to find their place in the world, the struggle of the 20 something, not sure where this life of theirs is going, just looking for a good time, a good girl and some good friends. A time where a hockey game can be the be all and end all of a persons day. Now 10 years later they still struggle with finding themselves but on a new level, the mid life crisis has set in, faced with the onslaught of their 30’s the boys are now looking at marriage and security and the possibility of it breaking their life long friendship. This new installment of “Clerks” doesn’t fail to satisfy it’s fans with gritty dick & fart joke humor that they have come to expect from writer/director Kevin Smith aka Silent Bob. In fact it serves up a myriad of offside humor and situations guaranteed to please even the most die hard View Askew fans. “Clerks 2” was a gamble as an idea, as a film it is a screaming success!
The Plot:
After the Quick Stop burns down Dante and Randall, find themselves new employment at Moobies, (the MacDonalds esque creation of Kevin Smith). While Dante sets about his last day working in Jersey, and prepares to leave with his fiancee to live in Florida, Randall is left looking at a future without his best friend to balance out his bullshit. The question is, is Dante leaving his friends behind for the right reasons or is he simply doing what he thinks a 33 year old man should do?

Crank (2006)
9.5/10
This film has easily made my top ten list! Think of all the elements you want in a film and I can assure you most of them are not only incorporated in this film, but executed with incredible skill. Violence, desperation, tough guys, tougher situations, incredible action, loads of great comic moments and a slight touch of love, “Crank” literally has it all and then some. The very concept of this film is so original, thought the ticking time bomb theme has been done before it has always been about survival for the antagonist, “Crank” is al about setting things right before the inevitable. Trust me you will love this film!
The film also uses some very interesting effects and angles which really set this movie apart from other actions films, from the C.S.I esque internal shots to the woozy drugged scenes, very nice touch to a great film!
Once again Jason Statham shows us why he is fast becoming one of the most dependable action/comedy stars in the world. Statham seems to be taking over from Bruce Willis as the likable underdog that uses his raw determination to win against all odds. But Jason Statham brings his own unique edge to each role, a kind of tough guy that may or may not really give a damn about anyone who gets in his way.
Amy Smart is also a standout in this movie, cute, quirky and very sexy. Amy seems to master her role as the ditsy girlfriend, without getting too cliche.
If you are a fan of Lock, Stock & two smoking barrels you will love Crank!
The Plot:
Chev Chelios is a professional assassin working for the West Coast crime syndicate. Chev's girlfriend Eve doesn't know what Chev does and Chev is planning to quit the crime syndicate so he can spend more time with her. But for Chev, things about to get very bad, when he learns he has been injected with a poison called "The Beijing Cocktail" by his rival Verona, which will kill him if his heart rate drops. Trying to stay alive and seeking help from friend, Kaylo and Doc Miles, to keep his heart pumping. Chev sets out to find answers as well as protecting Eve, and get his revenge on those who have betrayed him before the poison kills him.
